Parivar — Community Family Directory App

This Privacy Policy explains how the Parivar mobile application (the “App”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information. The App is a private community directory that helps members of the community maintain family records and stay connected. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

In short: we collect the profile and family-directory information you and your community administrators provide so members can find and connect with one another. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. You can view, update, or delete your account and data at any time.

1. Who We Are

The App is operated by the Parivar community (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any privacy question or request, contact us at nayaniparivarapp@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information stored in the community directory about you and your family members, which you or your community administrators provide:

Some of the above (e.g. photos, phone number, date of birth, address, academic results) may be considered sensitive personal information. We handle it only for the community-directory purpose described here.

Other members of your parivar Your directory profile (name, photo, contact details, family relationships, and other fields listed above) is visible to other authenticated members of the same community, so they can find and connect with you. It is not public.
Community administrators Administrators of your parivar can manage member and family records, review submitted content, and manage access, within their community.
Service providers (Google Firebase) We use Google Firebase to run the App — Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database), Cloud Storage (photos), Cloud Messaging (notifications), and Crashlytics (crash diagnostics), and Google Sign-In. Your data is processed and stored on Google’s infrastructure on our behalf. See Google’s Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Legal & safety We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our community and users.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account and directory information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the community directory. When you delete your account (see Section 7), your login and the personal data associated with your account — including your uploaded photos — are removed. Certain directory/genealogical records maintained by the community may be retained in an unclaimed state for the community’s record-keeping, and aggregate technical/diagnostic logs may be retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

We use industry-standard measures provided by Google Firebase, including encryption in transit, authenticated access, and server-side security rules that restrict access to your community. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended to be used by adult members of the community, who may maintain records of family members (including minors) on behalf of their family. The App is not directed to children for independent sign-up. If you believe a child has created an account directly, please contact us and we will address it.

9. International Users

Your information is processed and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which may be located in data centers outside your country. By using the App you consent to this processing.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
